Besides those employment agencies, in the same streets, there were places that sold clothing suitable for certain occupations, such as Governesses, private teachers, and so on, down to maids. They also sold clothes for men that worked in such domestic situations, down to footmen. Miss Elizabeth visited, and slipping the shopmen some coins, of which her Father had supplied some as she left, bought two outfits suitable for a male teacher. She had decided that a woman going on such a journey as she contemplated, would cause notice everywhere, but it would be normal for men to travel thus.
